JK a+d architecture + design are a London based architecture, interior and product design practice that was founded with the intention of Doing Things Better. Better quality of design information, better holistic design and integrated approach and a better all around experience for those involved. We believe that in order to achieve this. We follow the three ‘C’s’ as a guiding principle, Communication, Collaboration and Coordination whether we are delivering architectural design services or design management and package delivery through our consultancy service.
We need to do things better! As just one part of the overall construction industry we understand that there is still too much inefficiency, waste, conflicts and competing ideas that can lead to a fractured and stressful process. We may not be able to change the whole industry overnight but we can certainly do things better!
Relationships and Planning is key to how successful a project will end up being. The level of detail we create at the start is unique to how we operate. We take a more considered approach at the beginning of a project to understand the Client needs and drivers with a view of the constraints and opportunities each project presents, from the big picture to the fine detail. We think holistically; from initial concepts, detailing/construction, materials/sustainability, all the way through to delivery and handover. Regardless of the project type, we believe our Clients are part of the Team and therefore integral to the Design Process.
Time wasted and therefore stress for the client is minimised by this approach, enabling us to deliver results to programme; you won’t get unwelcome delays nor told that redraws are needed unnecessarily.
Our company structure also allows every key decision to be made by vastly experienced individuals, yet work in a collaborative way, again streamlining the process. Attention to detail means greater overall efficiency.
We believe this philosophy and approach is the same for a small domestic project as for a multi-million pound project.
We offer full Architectural and Interior Design Services through all the RIBA Stages 0-7, from new build, refurbishment / cut and carve and corporate fit-out interiors and workplace design projects within various sectors (Commercial for both Private and Government clients, Hospitality, Residential and Further Education), always with a view of the environmental impact and life-cycle costing of the project.
We also offer Design Management and a package delivery service providing technical drawing support and work with suppliers / manufacturers where applicable for specific RIBA stages as part of our Consultancy Service. We can provide this to other architects and interior designers, corporate and residential clients, contractors and developers across these various sectors.
